Member’s Page

Periodically, LLIR members bring forward an event or activities they wish to publicize to other members. Here’s how you can get your information onto the website.

  • Submissions are accepted from LLIR members, and content must relate to education for seniors, our current lecturers, or to Glendon, and have a take down date.
  • We do not accept advertising (eg bake sales, senior’s tours) unless it relates to activities of our lecturers. Neither do we accept political positions.
  • Send your request to info@llir.ca along with a copy of the relevant information. If it passes the screening tests, it will get posted on this page.

Eating in the cafeteria? The Board of Governors of the Glendon Senior Common Room(SCR) wishes to make membership in this Club available to members of LLIR.  The SCR is located at the east end of the third floor of York Hall, and offers a lunch menu Mondays to Fridays between 11:30 a.m. and 2:00 p.m. The facilities tend to be used less on Fridays which means that LLIR members could be accommodated. Joining is a simple procedure. Those who are interested should come to the SCR and fill in a membership application form any weekday at lunch time. This offer of SCR membership is to all members of LLIR, but to avoid being swamped they will accept the first 80 applications. If that does not overtax the facilities more might be accepted. The fee for membership for LLIR members is $11.30 (inc HST) for the Fall term (Sept. to Dec.) or $22.60 (inc HST) for the Fall and Winter terms (Sept. to Apr.). The SCR provides a convenient place to enjoy a complete lunch, including hot entrées, salads, desserts and alcoholic beverages from 11:30 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.. Coffee and tea are also available between 10:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m. each weekday. This information comes from Ian Gentles, President of the Glendon Senior Common Room – 416-736-2100 ext 88251.
